It has been almost two months since I last opened this blog and so much has happened that I don't even know where to start but I guess the best place is with my eyes.
Just after my last posting I decided to make an appointment with an eye doctor to have my cataracts checked, I thought maybe it was time to have them removed since it was getting harder and harder to read without really good light. Three weeks later, after many, many eyedrops, I went into surgery to have the cataract removed from my left eye. Everything went really well and three weeks later, after many more eyedrops, I was back in surgery to have the one on my right eye removed. It also went well and now two weeks later I can see well enough to write this posting without the aid of glasses. I may need to get somekind of reading glasses later.
I ask the Doctor not to put me to sleep when she did my left eye so she had them give me "just enough to take the edge off of my nerves" but even that was more than I wanted so she operated on my right eye while I was awake and watching, at least until she got the cataract and lens off. I will admit that I was happy to see the light coming back as she implanted the new lens.
This work on my eyes and not being allowed to do much work outside has put me behind but in the last week I have been mowing the yard, about a half acre, and getting the garden ready to plant. We even got a few things planted yesterday and today. We hadn't planned to have much of a garden this year but there is just something about spring that makes us want to see something growing.
Now that I can see a little better, maybe I can get back to learning how to operate this computer, Maybe. I'll try it again in a few days.
